On April 27th , in celebration of Arbor Day, Urban Forest Management Division
will be coordinating a tree planting project during Springfest Fairfax. We would
like to invite anyone to join us in the effort.
We need volunteers assistance with:
- Digging holes
- Planting trees
- Installing trunk guards and staking trees
Volunteers will meet at 8:00 am in front of the Administrative Building at
Occoquan Regional Park (9751 Ox Rd. Lorton, VA 22079). There volunteers will be
assigned to a planting area.
Volunteers should wear proper clothing for tree planting such as pants, long
sleeved shirt, sturdy shoes and gardening gloves. Planting trees works up a sweat
so make sure you bring plenty of water and a lunch.
For more information or anyone interested in volunteering should contact me at
